In the 1980’s Anne Lorraine began designing floral head pieces. These soon became so popular that her Sister Jennie, a florist, became involved and very soon the two decided to join forces and create a partnership that it is still going strong today.
The natural progression into bridal floristry soon followed including bouquets, floral arrangements and head-pieces. In those days the floral circlet head-piece was high in fashion but Jennie soon started to design with components other than flowers including Swarovski crystal, freshwater pearls and diamante. By 1987 the business moved from a unit into the first shop which soon doubled in size allowing the venture into all aspects of bridal and they established themselves as ‘Annie Laurie;’ a nickname given to Anne by her father.

Several weeks before your wedding you will meet our in house seamstress Phyl who will alter your gown where necessary. Phyl first set out to learn her trade at age 15. She trained under Jean Whenham and worked within her company for 10 years producing for Ossie Clarke a major English fashion designer in the swinging sixties and Jeff Banks CBE a Welsh designer of Men and Women’s clothing, amongst others. Her apprenticeship led her to the role of managing the finishing department until she later moved to Peterborough and set up in business by herself
Once we have completed your alterations, the relationship between us sadly ends. However, your marriage begins! Until this point, our team promise perfection and service to the end.
